Catfund is an algorithmic trading startup seeking to bring hedge fund-level returns to the average person. We use machine learning, statistical methods, and traditional financial management techniques to automate trading decisions and reduce financial risk. I currently serve as co-lead developer, implementing these techniques into a workable algorithm. Since meeting our founder Jonathan in May 2021 at a Startups2Students event through CU, I’ve done research, built test algorithms, and worn all the typical hats of the first developer at a brand-new venture. It’s been exciting and more than a little terrifying, but a fantastic experience all around - I’ve had the opportunity to apply everything I’ve learned over the course of my entire degree to solving this problem.
As a part of this process, I joined a CU research project on financial risk stability, which you can read more about here.
